Real face Banjul Utd on Tuesday

Real de Banjul will kick off the league second round with a "Banjul Derby" against Banjul United on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 at the Independence Stadium at 6 pm.

The 12-time Gambian league champions managed to accumulate 15 points from 11 outings sitting at 5th place ten points behind early pacesetters Gamtel FC.

A difficult first round for the "Whites" started with a surprised 1-0 defeat to Marimoo on the opening day. Majorr Saine's charges bounced back with a spirited 2-1 victory over Tallinding United in Week Two at the Serrekunda East mini stadium with goals from Babou Cham and Alasana Jatta's superb volley.

Two successive draws against Steve Biko and Brikama United would follow up for Real before a narrow 1-0 win over Tuesday's opponents Banjul United.

Last season's FF Cup finalist registered a comprehensive 3-0 hammering of Bombada at the Brikama Box Bar mini stadium in week six. Babou Cham opened the score before Ebrima Jatta's well taken brace ensured victory for the away side.

Gamtel edged out Real 1-0 in an entertaining match played at the Independence with striker Baboucarr Jallow's first half strike earning Sulayman Kuyateh's charges a famous win.

Another defeat followed up against Gambia Armed Forces despite taking the lead only for the "Khaki Boys" to hit back to win 2-1.

Given the mix results there was need for a derby game to lift the spirits and Hawks FC came knocking at the Independence Stadium taking the lead twice before a much improved Real de Banjul side forth back to earn a deserved two all draw.

Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) nicked a 1-0 win in Week Ten at the Box Bar but Real returned to the same venue to beat newcomers Fortune 2-1 courtesy of Mamgorr Mboob's double.

"We're disappointed with our first round results and we want to better our performances with results". said Captain Salifu Krubally.

Real will face Hawks FC in Week 13 of the Gambia Football Federation Division One on Monday 12 March at 6 pm at the Independence Stadium.

Tomorrow's match will be covered on our social media platforms with pre-match updates and live text commentary starting at 5:30 pm.
