Niarry Tally crowned champions of Real @ 50

Niarry Tally win RDB CupSenegalese Premier League club ASC Niarry Tally are the winners of the Real @ 50 international football tournament after their 1-0 win over the zonal team of Sukuta on Sunday.

The brilliant header from Abdoulaye Sano in the first half made the difference in a very highly contested final with both teams playing some good football. But Niarry Tally, who had the presence of Gambian trio Gibril Sillah, Dawda Sambou and Ismaila Colley, dominated possession and almost doubled their lead in the second half but only for the fantastic double saves from the Sukuta goalkeeper Ebrima Cham denied El Hadj Ndiaye.

The Senegalese side also found the back of the net for the second time but Ibrahima Dansokho’s last minute effort was ruled offside. Sukuta also created some good chances, notable the first half effort from Dembo Sankareh, which was on target but parried out for corner by the Niarry Tally goalkeeper.

Meanwhile in the earlier game, Guédiawaye FC of Senegal also clinched third place after seeing off Serekunda East on penalties following a 1-1 draw. The first half goal from Moussa Dieye was cancelled out by SK East’s Foday Manneh minutes later, before the half-time break.

The winners, Niarry Tally, went home with medals and a huge trophy while Sukuta and Guédiawaye went home with medals as second and third-place finishers.
