Majorr makes GFF monthly awards shortlist

Real de Banjul coach Majorr Saine has been shortlisted for the monthly Gambia Football Federation coach of the month award with two other coaches.

It is the first time that the Real de Banjul boss is making the shortlist which has been won in the past months by Gamtel coach Sulayman Kuyateh.

The 12-time champions of the league have recorded three successive victories this month after a surprised 2-1 defeat to Banjul United in Week 12.

Majorr and his charges mastered a solid 1-0 win over arch rivals Hawks with Ebrima Jatta neat glancing header securing the points at the Independence Stadium.

Tallinding United and Fortune FC where the latest victims of Majorr charges in Week 14 and 15. Ebou Sanyang scored twice from the spot to give Real de Bnajul a deserved 2-1 win.

Alasana Jatta's calm first half finish on Monday handed Real a second successive victory over the new boys on the block Fortune FC.

The two other contenting coaches are Sulayman Kuyateh of Gamtel and Modou Lamin Nyassi of Brikama United.

Majorr and Ebou Sanyang gunning for GFF awards

Real de Banjul coach Majorr Saine and midfield maestro Ebou Sanyang have been shortlisted for the monthly Gambia Football Federation awards.

Their nominations were revealed today by the Gambia Football Federation which see Ebou Sanyang in the Player of the Month category whiles Majorr guns for the coach of the month prize.

VP Jammeh meets Felix Seaman in Berlin

Real de Banjul Second Vice President Bakary K Jammeh on Friday, 9 March 2018, met with Felix Seaman Hoschele the Chief Operating Officer of Berlin Sport Consulting in Berlin to discuss areas of mutual benefit.

The two held talks on a wide range of issues ranging from the current collaboration between Real de Banjul and Berlin Sport Consulting to professionalizing the club structures.

"We met to discuss on areas of mutual benefits as we (Real de Banjul) look to professionalized the club in terms of dealing with our partners and our structures". Jammeh told the club website.  

Berlin Sport Consulting is a German based consulting company specializing in international transfers and work hand in hand with Schweele Law Office who also specializes in International Sports Law.

They have clients from professional football clubs and players in all five continents, for example in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Italy, Chile, Ivory Coast, as well as many Amateur clubs around the world.

Muhammed and Mamgorr receive U-20 call ups

Real de Banjul duo Muhammed Sanneh and Mamgorr Mboob have been invited to join the Gambia National U-20 team for training in preparation for the 2019 Total Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Gambia will play the winner between Liberia and Benin in the first round of qualifying after been given a bye following last month's draw in Casablanca, Morocco.

Mamgorr Mboob returned from a successful season's loan with Marimoo FC and has already scored three times this season for the 12-time Gambian champions.

Sanneh is a regular feature in the Real de Banjul defense since joining from Serrekunda United and recently returned from Denmark where he had a two weeks trial with Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland.

The duo will be joined by Lamin Saidy and Pa Modou Sohna in training which will be held at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum from Friday 16 and Saturday 17 March.

Ligue 1 legend Amara Simba visits Real De Banjul

Former PSG, Monaco and France striker Amara Simba

Former Paris Saint Germain, AS Monaco and France forward Amara Simba will visit Real de Banjul Football Club with two other top French club official to explore next big thing in Gambian football.


Simba, 56, born in Senegal made his mark in the French Ligue 1 between the mid 80s to the late 90s with giant clubs, Paris Saint Germain, AS Monaco, SM Caen and Lille OSC.

The former Guinea Syli Nationale assistant coach will arrive in the Gambia on Friday with the Sporting Director of Ligue 1 side Troyes as they're set to visit the club and other contacts.

"We're delighted to have Amara and his colleagues visiting us which is a huge milestone for the club. He's a great name in world football who's well connected". Club President William Abraham said.

He has three appearances for the French national team scoring twice and was named in Michel Platini's Euro 92 squad but he was forced to pull out following a serious tibia-fibula fracture and he needed seven months to recover. 

Amara who started his professional career at the age of 25-years starred for Paris Saint Germain between 1986-1993 where he scored 22 goals in 109 appearances.

The man nicked-named bicycle, scored the most beautiful goal of the French Ligue 1 in the 1992-1993 season for a bicycle kick when he received the ball, controlled it with his chest and finished it off with a bicycle kick against Mulhouse 1990 at the Parc de Princes.

After seven seasons with PSG Simba moved to join Arsene Wenger's AS Monaco where he spent a season with players like Nigeria legend Victor Ikpeba, French household names Yuri Djorkaeff, Enzo Scito, Claude Puel, Lilian Thuram and Emmanuel Petit.

He has also represented clubs like SM Caen, Lille OSC and English side Barnet before hanging his boots in 2002 with Billericay Town F.C
